Introduction to FileMaker Pro 9
Introduction to FileMaker Pro 9 is a hands-on class where students use FileMaker Pro 9 to learn about its new features. By the end of the day students will have built a basic contact management database and understand how to apply the concepts to their own projects.
The class walks students through the basics of FileMaker Pro 9 including its various modes and how to navigate among records, layouts, tables and files. In the process of creating their database, students will learn how to work other file types such as images and external documents, organize data within the database and create printable reports.
The class concludes with an overview of the help features and online resources for FileMaker Pro 9. Due to the basic similarities between FileMaker Pro 7, 8, 8.5 and 9, approximately 85 percent of the material covered in this class can be applied to recent versions. Students will be well equipped to address many of the challenges they will face when they return to their organization.
